Earlier this year, EveryBlock announced plans to hire a community manager to help lead the way as the team prepares to launch new community features on the site.
As a regular reader of the EveryBlock blog, you may have noticed several posts from me. I’m actually the new community manager and I thought it was time for me to introduce myself!
I believe that online communities can be powerful tools for creating bonds in the real world. I think this especially true when it comes to neighborhoods where people live within blocks of one another and may even walk past each other every day. So as you can imagine, I’m thrilled to be part of the EveryBlock team as their first-ever community manager.
In a nutshell, my role is to lead the growth of the EveryBlock community on our site, on social networks and in real life. In addition, I’m responsible for helping grow our user community, guiding our development team to build new community tools, spreading the word about EveryBlock and leading our social-media efforts.
I’m always looking to connect with folks who are using EveryBlock to stay informed about their neighborhood, so feel free to say hello by sending me an e-mail or tweeting me at @everyblock or @ebchicago.
